Artemisia Winery in the Vineyard

Set amongst the hills of south-eastern Tuscany, in the orderly and sun-drenched landscape that slopes down from Montepulciano towards the Valdichiana, lies Artemisia in Vigna: a wine-producing estate with a holiday cottage that combines rural authenticity, a winemaking heritage and a vast landholding.

Its location is one of its key strengths: sunny, panoramic, at around 330 metres above sea level, easily accessible via a provincial road and therefore convenient for hospitality, logistics and day-to-day management. The climate, particularly favourable for viticulture, benefits from the presence of the lakes of Montepulciano, Chiusi and Trasimeno, which help to moderate temperatures and create an ideal balance between summer heat and ventilation.

A historic complex restored in the Tuscan style

The property comprises buildings dating back to the 19th century, skilfully renovated and maintained in excellent condition. The impression is immediate: harmonious rural spaces, period details and materials consistent with the tradition of sharecropping, with terracotta as a defining feature – a direct reference to the ancient local kilns and the region’s building heritage.

The buildings house and support all the farm’s main functions:

spaces dedicated to agritourism, designed for hospitality and food and wine tourism;

historic cellars and rooms for winemaking and ageing, which are functional and integrated into the complex;

areas used for warehousing and agricultural storage, essential for comprehensive operational management.

The result is a ‘genuine’ estate: not only beautiful to look at, but ready for work.

52 hectares of land: vineyards, countryside and olive groves

The total area is approximately 52 hectares, a size that guarantees privacy, landscape continuity and the potential for agricultural development.

The heart of the estate’s production lies in 6 hectares of vineyards, where rows of particular value stand out, with historic vines dating back to 1935: a rare feature that lends character to the wines and adds narrative value to the brand, particularly for an international market that is increasingly attuned to the identity and history of places.

Rounding off the estate is an olive grove of around 800 trees, planted with local varieties, perfect for expanding the estate’s range with olive oil production and enhancing the agritourism experience (tastings, direct sales, experiential packages).

Production is up and running and the commercial presence is well-established

The estate produces approximately 60,000 bottles a year, with 5 labels spanning DOCG, DOC and IGT. Production and marketing are historically well-established (having been active for a long time) with a presence in foreign markets as well, a factor that makes the property attractive not only as a property investment, but as an operational farm with an established market position.
